Ready for take-off

To the moon with your buddy. Know your times tables and conquer the planets!

For parents: see which tables are still tricky.

Practise times tables with your own pet

Times tables practice doesn’t have to be a battle, even when 7 × 8 still won’t stick after three tries. In Pet Rocket your child flies to the Moon with their favourite pet. Along the way they practise multiplication and division through play, and with the Times Tables Coach in the Moon Pass those tricky sums come back more often.

Pet Rocket in 26 seconds

How it works

  1. Type a name and pick a pet from twenty animals.
  2. Choose Multiply (3 × 4), Divide (12 ÷ 3) or Mix: times tables and division mixed together.
  3. Choose which tables to practise: all tables, the hardest (6 to 8), your own selection, or, with the Moon Pass, the sums that still feel hard.
  4. Press the rocket. You play two rounds of one minute of the kind you chose. After that you see how many sums were right.

What does a child practise?

The game covers the tables from 1 to 10, as multiplication and as division. The Moon Pass includes the Times Tables Coach: the sums you often get wrong come back more often and the ones you already know come back less. A sum you missed comes round again after a few questions.

There are no long lists and no explanations while you play. You see one sum, type the answer and see right away whether the rocket climbs.

Who is it for?

Pet Rocket is made for children aged about 7 to 10 who are learning or reviewing their tables, at home or in class. A child can play alone. A parent sees the best score and the accuracy for free. With the Moon Pass, they can see which tables are still tricky. How well it fits depends on the child and on what school expects.

No account, no fuss

You do not have to sign up to play. Your child’s name then stays on your own device. A parent or teacher can choose to create an account to keep the progress. There are no ads and no tracking cookies. Read the privacy notice.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pet Rocket free?

Playing is free. The Times Tables Coach (hard sums come back more often), tables 11 and 12, following progress, printing and the bonus game for telling the time are part of the Moon Pass (€9.99 per year, cancel any time). There is nothing to install.

Do I need an account?

No. You only type a first name or a nickname and can play straight away. A parent or teacher can choose to add an account to keep and view the progress.

Where are the results stored?

By default in the browser of your own device. With a parent or teacher account also online, so you can continue on another device. After each round we also receive a summary of the sums played, without your child's name (see the privacy notice).

Can I practise division too?

Yes. You choose Multiply, Divide or Mix, with times tables and division mixed together. The choice is remembered for each player.

Can I choose a particular table?

Yes. Pick "Choose myself" and tap the tables you want to practise.

Does it work on a tablet or phone?

Yes. The game adapts to the screen and runs in an ordinary browser.

Is there music during the game?

Yes. During a round, calm instrumental music plays that is made to help children focus. It only plays while practising. The sound button at the top of the game turns all sound off, which is handy in class.

Which languages are available?

Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish, Chinese and Hindi. You switch language at the top of the page.
