Times tables practice across the school
The whole school follows the same scheme. Yet every class practises times tables with something different: another game, another app or a pile of worksheets. So nobody really knows which tables have stuck by the end of the year. New apps also often need accounts with pupil data, which means a privacy check and an installation first. With Pet Rocket every class can practise with the same game, without pupil accounts and without installing anything.

Why practice ends up scattered
In Year 2 children learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, in Year 3 the 3, 4 and 8, and by Year 4 every table up to 12 × 12, with the Multiplication Tables Check in June. The approach follows the scheme, but for practice every class picks its own games and apps. So a child has to learn a new tool every year. And anyone looking for a free game soon runs into adverts, pop-ups or links to other sites.
One game for every class
Each teacher picks this week’s tables and shares one link with the class. Children type a first name or nickname, pick a pet and play. Every right answer brings the rocket closer to the Moon. So every year group can practise with the same game, and a child recognises it from one year to the next.
Privacy and IT without the hassle
- Pupils don’t need an account or an email address.
- Their name stays on their own device.
- There are no adverts, no chat and no links out of the game.
- The site uses a cookie-free visitor counter.
- There is nothing to install. The game runs in the browser on tablets, Chromebooks and computers.
At home too
The same link works at home. So parents can help with exactly the tables the class is working on.
