During a round (phone)

They practise their times tables every evening, and the next day 7 × 8 is gone again. Lots of parents know the feeling, and don’t know where it goes wrong. Want to tell your readers, your members or the parents at your school about Pet Rocket? Everything you need is right here.

What is Pet Rocket?

With Pet Rocket, practising times tables becomes an adventure. Your child flies their own pet to the Moon in a rocket. Every right answer takes the rocket higher, and every table they master becomes a new planet. And you discover which times tables your child still finds hard.

Pet Rocket is for children of about 7 to 10, for times tables and division. You play straight away on a phone, tablet, Chromebook or computer. There’s nothing to install.

How it works

For your child

  1. Type a first name and choose a pet.
  2. Choose the tables: all tables, the hardest (6, 7 and 8) or your own choice. As times tables, division or both.
  3. Play two short one-minute rounds. You see one sum at a time and type the answer. A right answer lifts the rocket.
  4. Every table your child knows adds a planet to the trophy cabinet.

For you as a parent

  • After every round you see straight away how it went.
  • With the Moon Pass you see, table by table, what your child still finds hard, and which sums go wrong most often.
  • The Times Tables Coach (in the Moon Pass) brings back the sums that go wrong more often. About 3 in 8 sums are then about what is still hard.
  • Print a worksheet with your child’s hardest sums, and celebrate a table they know with a certificate.

For the classroom

  • A teacher shares one link with the tables of the week. Pupils play straight away, with no logins.

What makes Pet Rocket different

  • Free to play straight away, and you still see where it goes wrong. No account needed, no e-mail address.
  • Simply safe. No ads, no chat and no links out of the game. Your child’s name stays on your own device.
  • Like at school. With the signs and words your child learns in class.
  • Made by a dad, for his son. Independent of any maths method, school network or government.
