Dividing by 11
Can your child divide up to 10 already? Then dividing by 11 is a fun challenge, because there is a pattern you spot straight away.
Dividing by 11
- 11 ÷ 11 = 1
- 22 ÷ 11 = 2
- 33 ÷ 11 = 3
- 44 ÷ 11 = 4
- 55 ÷ 11 = 5
- 66 ÷ 11 = 6
- 77 ÷ 11 = 7
- 88 ÷ 11 = 8
- 99 ÷ 11 = 9
- 110 ÷ 11 = 10
- 121 ÷ 11 = 11
- 132 ÷ 11 = 12
Trick
From 22 to 99 the answer is written twice: 44 ÷ 11 = 4. After that come 110 ÷ 11 = 10, 121 ÷ 11 = 11 and 132 ÷ 11 = 12.
Watch out
Below 100, a number only divides by 11 if both digits are the same. So 45 ÷ 11 does not work.
